THE KIPSIGIS:

The Kipsigis are numerically the largest Kalenjin sub-ethnic group with approximate population of over 2.5 Million. They inhabit the highlands of Kericho from Timboroa to Mara River in the south, the west from Mau Escarpment to Kebeneti. The Kipsigis also live in parts of Laikipia, Kitale, Nakuru, Narok, Trans Mara District, Eldoret and Nandi Hills. The Kipsigis are known for large scale tea farming apart from other farming activities. The Kipsigis are also famous for their great singing talent having produced many musicians in both secular and religious music industry.
